About Velvet Reel

Story first. Craft in every frame.

Velvet Reel is a boutique visual storytelling studio creating cinematic trailers and story-driven visuals for books and creative projects.

Every project begins with the story — its characters, atmosphere, emotional beats, and visual identity. From there, the creative direction is shaped around what makes that world distinctive.

Our workflow combines creative direction, AI-assisted visual development, motion, editing, music, and sound. Each element is shaped and refined into a cohesive cinematic experience that feels intentional, distinctive, and true to the story.

Client feedback

From the people behind the stories.

The reels and videos have been of excellent quality, and I have been more than proud to have my name and books associated with each and every one of them.

My first book came out a little bit ago and the trailer Velvet Reel created was the right fit. Now as I start to work on my second, the announcement trailer as well as a few shorter trailers were also good.

Not only is Velvet Reel’s work beautiful and cinematic, but the level of talent and work ethic is second to none. I have worked with Velvet Reel four different times, and each time gets better. The studio has not only delivered what I asked for, but improved upon it each time.

Somehow, Velvet Reel has managed to take scenes that existed on the page and turn them into something that genuinely feels like watching pieces of my books come to life. I’ve gone back for multiple videos now, which probably says more than anything else could.

FAQ

A few things to know before starting a project.

What do you need from me to get started?

A short overview of your story, characters, tone, and what you’d like to create is enough to begin. Book covers, character references, excerpts, mood references, and existing artwork are helpful when available, but you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

Not at all. Existing ideas and references can be developed further, or we can help shape the creative direction around the story, characters, atmosphere, and intended use.

Can you work with my existing character art or book cover?

Yes. Existing character art, book covers, mood references, and other visual materials can be used as a starting point to help keep the final visuals aligned with your story and established aesthetic.

How long does a project take?

Timelines vary depending on the length, complexity, scope, and current availability. A production schedule will be confirmed before the project begins.

How do revisions work?

The number of revision rounds is agreed before the project begins and depends on the final scope.

How is pricing determined?

Projects are custom quoted based on scope, complexity, deliverables, and timeline. A clear quote is provided before any work begins.
